Interior Health is seeking a permanent part time (0.52 FTE) Tertiary Mental Health Clinician to join our warm and welcoming Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS) team in Cranbrook, B.C.

Who are we looking for?


A suitable candidate for the role of Tertiary Mental Health Clinician is a highly skilled and experienced professional with advanced expertise in assessing and treating complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders, including co-occurring conditions. The successful candidate should excel in collaborative care planning and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, evidence-based treatment across the continuum of services. This individual should be innovative, continuously seeking ways to enhance mental health programming and development, and be actively involved in teaching and mentoring health team members. Additionally, they should possess a deep understanding of community resources, contribute to relevant committees, and maintain a holistic approach that addresses the broad spectrum of patient needs, including physical health and various aspects of personal and social life.

What will you work on?

The Tertiary Mental Health Clinician functions as a member of the larger tertiary mental health multidisciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons with severe and persistent psychiatric/neuropsychiatric disorders, and/or developmental disabilities have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.

The Tertiary Mental Health Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, and collaborative care planning with the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. Participates in and conducts teaching programs with members of the health team, uses community resources appropriately fostering maximum service to patients and their families. Participates in mental health, hospital and community committees relevant to patient care. Is innovative in approach, programming and development of the mental health area.

Scheduling Information:

Shift times are from Wednesday (08:30-16:30), Thursday (08:30-16:30), Friday (08:30-12:30) hours.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

Two years’ recent related experience with severe and persistent psychiatric/neuropsychiatric disorders, and/or developmental disabilities disorders or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
