Position Summary

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our Pharmacy Team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. This role offers the opportunity to work at the leading edge of healthcare and advance your career. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care, you will act as a clinical pharmacy resource, providing consultation services to internal and external healthcare professionals and organizations. You will develop, plan, organize, and evaluate clinical programs, quality assurance activities, teaching, and research activities, while overseeing the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients in the critical care setting. Collaboration with local and regional pharmacy leaders, physicians, and nursing leaders is key to achieving overall goals and objectives.

Your Role:
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care will support departmental and regional pharmacy initiatives through collaboration and mentorship, while providing clinical support and expertise to other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include performing competency assessments, providing drug information, and acting as a specialty advisor on regional and local evidence-based decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Certification of completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency program.
• Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or post graduate degree in clinical pharmacy from a recognized university program and at least 3 years recent hospital pharmacy experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, knowledge and experience.
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is recommended.
