Salary Range:
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Business Solutions Architect acts as a senior resource responsible for evaluating business requirements, designing and overseeing the implementation of complex technology solutions that will meet business needs of Interior Health (IH). The position helps customers to define their product vision and roadmap and plays a pivotal role working with project resources in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software products before they are handed over to operations teams. The Business Solutions Architect will work in conjunction with the Manager of Business Digital Transformation and Director of Business Solutions to ensure assigned projects and technical vision for a digital transformation solution are in line with the overarching vision and guidance provided by the Digital Health strategic plan and in support of business goals.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

• Performs detailed analysis of business requirements and works with partners to determine the technical requirements of a solution. This involves analyzing business processes, workflows, existing applications and technologies, and recommends solutions that will be used to meet business requirements and deliver value to the organization.
• Creates technical documentation including architecture diagrams, system specifications, capability maps, data models etc. that will be used to describe technical aspects of the solution and will be used to design, build, and implement business solutions.
• Provides guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise in the development and implementation of software applications, systems, and other IT infrastructure projects.
• Communicates the solution architecture to the partners presenting complex technical concepts that are easily understood by non-technical partners. Collaborates and coordinates with infrastructure, development, and other teams to lead successful digital transformation.
• Ensures solutions are high quality, including performance, reliability, and scalability through testing and ensuring business solutions meet requirements and technical specifications.
• Researches and identifies opportunities for process improvement, collaborating with vendors to understand product and service roadmaps in particularly how they relate, affect, and enable IH’s technology and business investment strategy.
• Leads, inspires, and influences the team to embrace innovative business solutions and practices that enable frequent release of high-quality and efficient solutions. Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with existing standards and best practices.
• Builds and maintains an intricate knowledge of relevant infrastructures, products, services, and business capabilities.
• Fosters collaborative relationships with technology, privacy, security, analytics, and business departments and provides support to operations teams.
• Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements.
• Acts as an expert consultant for escalation, requirements gathering, and representation of business solutions in groups, initiatives, and projects; including budget development activities or the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of variances and overruns.
• Communicates complex concepts through storyboards, prototypes and other interactive design techniques and recommends user-centric solutions; including presenting, pitching and convincing others to accept alternative approaches to the problem/solution paradigm.
• Create and maintain a framework, standards, and best practices for developing user/business centric solution recommendations and proposals.
• Serve as a Product Owner to ensure accurate interpretation of business needs and to maximize value throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work with the operational leads to specify in detail how the service will be delivered, roles and responsibilities, effort, and how to measure success of the service and its contribution to supporting the businesses vision and roadmap.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

• Baccalaureate Degree in in Computer Science, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of industry experience in Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Solutions Architecture, or related field.
• Experience in modeling business processes by using various tools and techniques.
• Cloud or related technical certifications are an asset, as is, course work in a health-related area or and/or experience working in the healthcare field.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities
• Solid customer, vendor, and consultant relationship management and performance management skills.
• Strong decision making abilities and interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detailed understanding of the function, process, and integration of information technology in a healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization and at a provincial level, and possessing political awareness in the health care environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, and organize major projects and to problem solve.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continually changing environment.

• Information Analysis and Insight Generation: understand the meaning of structured and unstructured business information and support generating insight from it.
