Position Summary

Kelowna Community Health & Services Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Staffing Services Scheduling Clerk to join their team!

When scheduled the hours of work are Days/Evenings - 06:00 to 14:00, 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 05:00 to 14:12, 14:00 to 22:00, 14:03 to 23:15 rotating.

Days off: Rotating

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual positions and lead to regular employment.

What Will You Work On?
In this role you will work in a customer-focused, team-oriented framework performing staffing, scheduling and payroll clerical functions in a fully automated system. Some typical duties will include:
• Receives and processes requests for vacancy coverage to ensure staff compliment baselines are met;
• Allocates and calls in relief staff to fill vacancies;
• Receives and processes on-staff, payroll removal notices and change notices;
• Reviews and audits timekeeping records;
• Reviewing, calculating and editing on call and call back hours;
• Data entry;
• Reception and clerical duties.

Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience:
• Grade 12, Plus
• Three year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
