Position Summary

Orchard Haven Seniors Care Home (ORH), located in Keremeos, B.C., has an immediate permanent, part-time (0.41 FTE) Rehabilitation Assistant opening. This facility-based position has a schedule with a community-based position for a total FTE of 1.00.

Orchard Haven is a serene residential community nestled amidst lush orchards and scenic landscapes. This facility is a seniors care home with 35 private rooms and includes a 10 bed Dementia care unit. Rehabilitation Assistants play a crucial part in carrying out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assisting therapists in monitoring and evaluating residents’ progression. Operation within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of the rehabilitation team, you make a substantial contribution to the impact on progression of resident needs and their rehabilitation journey.

Within this role, a Rehabilitation Assistant:
• Is encouraged to work at top of scope.
• Engages patients with regular therapeutic interventions.
• Has a huge impact on progression of patient needs and their rehab journey.
• Is an intrical member of the rehabilitation team.
• Is relied on to be the eyes and ears of the rehab team.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program, or an internationally educated therapist who has the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
