Recreation Therapy Worker Opportunity at Durand Manor in Golden, BC

As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you will operate within a client-centered framework, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to implement and evaluate our established Recreation Therapy Program.

Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you'll be responsible for executing established individual and group leisure/recreation therapy programs, spanning a wide range of activities such as arts, cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises, ensuring residents' active participation and comfort. Additionally, you'll organize program spaces and equipment for events and activities, creating a supportive environment for our residents to thrive. You'll also accompany residents on outings, ensuring they are well-prepared with appropriate clothing and funds, while coordinating with nursing staff to confirm program details. Furthermore, you'll take the lead in facilitating individual and group sessions, adapting programs to address residents' diverse needs, and meticulously maintain accurate attendance records for evaluation and reporting purposes.

Casual Employment Opportunities:
This casual position offers flexible work hours ranging from zero to 37.5 hours per week, with day and evening shifts available. Casual employees can apply for permanent part-time or full-time positions internally, providing avenues for career growth within Interior Health.

Qualifications

• Grade 12

• Completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
