Position Summary

We are seeking a Permanent Full Time Speech-language Pathologist | Early Childhood Development at Vernon Health Centre in Vernon, BC.

Days of work: Monday to Friday, Days

Shift times: 08:30 to 16:30

**New Rate as of April 1, 2024 will be $42.27 to $52.81.

This position may be eligible for the B.C. Loan Forgiveness Program.

What will you work on?

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) S-LP works with children aged birth-to-school entry from a variety of cultural backgrounds and their parents/caregivers. The ECD S-LP will engage in screening, assessment, intervention, coaching, and education in all areas of speech, language, and communication with this population. The ECD S-LP will collaborate with other professionals from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), Ministry of Education (MoE), as well as local community organizations.

We are looking for an ECD S-LP with experience/preference working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their caregivers. The ECD S-LP will have excellent oral and written communication abilities and be able to connect with people from all types of backgrounds. The ECD S-LP will be creative in supporting clients’ goals while adhering to program guidelines. The ECD S-LP will be an active and engaged team member, able to respectfully communicate and resolve conflict in a timely manner.

Located 22 km to the northeast of Vernon is Silver Star Mountain Resort, a world-class ski destination with 108 runs.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
• One year’s recent, related experience in working with clients in Early Childhood Development setting and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. New grads are also welcome to apply.
• Valid BC Driver’s license where required.
