Community Mental Health (MH) Worker 1 | Mental Health EPI

Position Summary

We are currently hiring a permanent part time (0.60 FTE) Community Mental Health Workers 1 to join our MH team. This position will support the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPT) Team in Penticton (based out of both the Foundry and Penticton Health Center).


Salary Range:


Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $27.92 to $29.60 p/h

What will you work on?

The EPI service is a multi-disciplinary team who provide evidence based, specialized, holistic and age & culturally safe interventions and supports for people experiencing or at risk of experiencing first episode of psychosis between the ages of 18 to 30 years and their families. The service provides assessment, planning, treatment, consultation, follow-up, education and assertive outreach.

The Community Mental Health Worker 1 functions as part of an integrated multidisciplinary Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Team and performs a variety of life skills and general support duties involving clients who are living in their own housing. Reporting to the HCIS Manager or designate, and in accordance with established treatment plans, this position provides services within a psychosocial rehabilitation and harm reduction framework for the assigned client population(s) with severe mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders. Provides support to clients in the development and maintenance of the skills required to live successfully in their own homes. The Community Mental Health Worker 1 is expected to engage clients in various community settings as people with full potential and as meaningful collaborators in their own service planning, delivery and evaluation.

Scheduling Information:

Shifts types are days and shift of work are from 08:30 to 16:18 hours. Days of work are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Grade 12

Certificate in a field relevant to the position (such as, Community Mental Health Certificate, Human Service Worker Certificate, Social Services Worker Certificate, etc.)

One year recent related experience working with the assigned client population(s) experiencing mental health and/or substance use problems; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Food Safe certificate required.

Current valid B.C. Driver’s License
