Pharmacy Professional Practice Leader | Primary and Community Care

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a Pharmacy Professional Practice Leader to join the Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Team. This position is Term Specific Full Time (1.00 FTE) working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 and has a flexible work location. This position will provide coverage until February 25, 2025.

What Will You Work On?
As the Professional Practice Leader, Primary and Community Care (PCC), you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day supervision of clinical pharmacy services provided by PCC clinical pharmacists. You will act as a vital clinical pharmacy resource, offering professional guidance, mentorship, and support to clinical pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy residents. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.

In this dynamic position, you will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients. Your responsibilities will include identifying and resolving actual and potential drug therapy problems through medication therapy management, education, counseling, and the promotion of medication adherence. You will supervise and support PCC clinical pharmacists, coordinating work assignments, evaluating workload and workflow, and optimizing staff performance and efficiency in the designated area. Additionally, you will collaborate with key partners to develop, implement, and evaluate both existing and new clinical pharmacy services, policies, and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Certification of completion of an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency program (ACPR1).
• Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or post graduate degree in clinical pharmacy from a recognized university program;
OR
Certification of completion of an Accredited Advanced Pharmacy Residency program (ACPR2);
• Five years clinical experience in relevant team based care clinical setting, with demonstrated leadership experience and competencies, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is recommended.
