This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.

**Effective April 01, 2024, the hourly wage will be $27.56 per hour**

As a team player you will perform a variety of duties within a Food Service Department such as:
• Prepares assigned entrees, sauces, soups, etc. by ensuring proper ingredient amounts, and following established standardized recipes according to production schedules, to ensure consistent quality of regionally distributed products. Plans preparation and cooking schedule;
• Cooks and prepares assigned general diet and therapeutic diet products by procedures such as roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling and baking; tempers frozen ingredients according to food safety standards.
• Participates in regular testing and auditing of food products for palatability, consistency, appearance, and provides feedback to the Food Service Supervisor and/or Manager;
• Carves food items such as meat and poultry and controls portioning of food items;
• Maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste;
• Requisitions and receives supplies as required from Ingredient Control area;
• Assigns tasks to designated Food Service Workers and provides related orientation;
• Cleans work area, utensils, and equipment to maintain safety and sanitation standards;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from a recognized program in quantity cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
 Ability to deal with others effectively.
 Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
 Ability to organize work.
 Ability to operate related equipment.
