Position Summary

Kelowna Health Centre has an immediate term specific, part-time (0.82 FTE) Occupational Therapist opening. This term position is 2 years in length.

This position supports assessment of Complex Developmental Conditions (FASD, CCY, ASD); ages 2 to 19. This position is aligned with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. ACT is a team treatment approach designed to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and support to persons with persistent Mental Health Conditions. The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial part in providing assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to clients and/or their caregivers. Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, you make a substantial contribution to promote functional independence and enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

This position’s schedule is Tuesdays through Fridays. Local travel is required in this role within the surrounding area. Access to personal vehicle will be required. Mileage during work hours is paid. We will support the successful candidate with an orientation customized to meet the Occupational Therapist and offer mentorship processes and informal supports with more experienced Occupational Therapists on the team.

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Two years' experience is preferred.
