Position Summary

East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is seeking a Relief Full Time Sonographer to join their Medical Imaging team.

This position will work rotating days and evenings with the shift times being 06:30 to 14:30, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 09:30 to 17:30, 14:00 to 22:00, 14:30 to 22:30. This position will end upon the return of the incumbent.

What Will You Work On?
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you would be joining a collegial and cohesive Diagnostic Imaging team. EKRH has three General Ultrasound Rooms and two Echo Rooms. Approximately 17,000 General exams are completed per year and roughly 3,000 Echo exams per year. Our community’s in Creston, Fernie and Golden offer Ultrasound services and scan ~3,000 patients per year. We are seeking to expand our services to include an additional Ultrasound room at EKRH and exploring potential ultrasound in Invermere.

Effective April 01, 2024 – the hourly wage for Sonographers will be $40.83 to $50.94

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).

• Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular).

• Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
