Position Summary
Interior Health's Lab team in Revelstoke are seeking casual Medical Lab Technologists. Casual means that hours are not guaranteed and may vary. Shift times may be Monday to Friday, days and evenings until midnight, with on-call from midnight until 7am. Weekends are on-call only from Friday night until Monday morning. Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage rate will be $36.69 - $45.70 per hour.

About the position:
MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine as well as performing venipuncture. Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
• Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
• Validating and reporting test results
• Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents
• Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs
About this location:
The Queen Victoria Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Revelstoke, between Salmon Arm and Golden, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, obstetrics, and emergency.
Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
