This is a great opportunity for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to continue to develop and enhance their first-line supervisory skill-set. This position can be exciting and challenging with varied responsibilities and priorities. The ideal applicant will be confident and experienced in providing direction and assignments to staff, organizing workflow and ensuring that safe and individualized client-centered care is always delivered.

About the Job
The Licensed Practical Nurse:
• The Team Leader coordinates Home Support Services by supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (CCLPNs), Community Health Workers (CHWs) and other unregulated members of the team, overseeing the implementation of client care plans, providing training and evaluation of care provided by staff, and advocating for changes that improve client care
• In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, performs assessments, makes nursing diagnosis, implements and provides personal and nursing care for clients in a community health setting.
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols
This is a Casual Opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. Shifts of work will be scheduled days; rotating from 08:00 to 15:30 hours.
* Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage will be $34.20 to $42.79 per hour.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses plus three (3) years of recent, related acute, long-term care or community care experience including one (1) year supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current, full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Current valid BC Driver’s License
