Position Summary

Interior Health has an exciting opportunity for a relief part time (0.50 FTE) Social Worker to join their team at the Penticton Urgent Primary Care in downtown Penticton, B.C. This relief is until the return of the incumbent.

Salary Range:

Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $42.27 to $52.81

What Will You Work On?

The Urgent Primary Care Social Worker provides comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides direct psychosocial care, counseling and group work, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. The Social Worker is responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.

Scheduling Information:

This shared 7 day per week position will be working with a strong interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, MHSU clinicians and physiotherapists. This position is currently 4.5 hour shifts on weekdays and 6.5 hour shifts on the weekends. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work client's aged 0 - 100.

Shift times are from 16:00 to 20:30, 11:30 to 18:30 hours.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.

Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.

Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.

Current valid BC driver’s license.
