Joining us at 100 Mile House Hospital you’ll play a pivotal role within a multi-disciplinary team setting and in varied healthcare settings.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our warm and welcoming team in 100 Mile House. In this role, the primary work is within a 16-bed inpatient acute care setting. Physiotherapy generalist skills will carry forward to serve one convalescent short stay bed, and as needed, five respite beds at the long-term care facility Fisher Place. There is some outreach into the community to assist with discharges. You’ll carry a mixed client base ranging from acute respiratory to chronic disease, knee and hip replacements, non-telemetry to chronic, and medical. You will work closely with the Physicians and team in delivering patient-centered care and assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical status, functional abilities, and goals, utilizing an evidence-based approach to develop and implement tailored treatment plans. Your expertise will focus on improving, maintaining, or supporting clients’ physical performance and independence. As part of a collaborative team, you will educate clients and caregivers on self-management and injury prevention, while working to achieve optimal health outcomes through ongoing evaluation and adjustment of treatment strategies. You’ll offer guidance and direction to rehabilitation assistants, ensuring that specific care needs are met and functions are transferred appropriately for optimal client outcomes. This position works 08:00 to 16:00 hours; Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

About 100 Mile House Hospital | As a rural hospital, 100 Mile House Hospital plays a crucial role in serving not only the town of 100 Mile House but also the surrounding rural communities. It provides healthcare services for a largely rural and agricultural population, offering critical care that might otherwise require longer travel times to larger urban centres. The hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, inpatient and outpatient care, surgical services (minor and elective surgeries), diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and works closely with primary care providers in the region including family physicians and the 100 Mile House Primary Care Network.

Qualifications

• Full registration as a Physical Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license where required.

Comments

Hourly rates of pay $42.56 to $52.95
