Data Facilitator | Analytics and Reporting (WORKSITE LOCATION IS FLEXIBLE)

Position Summary

Interior Health is hiring a Data Facilitator, Analytics & Reporting to join the Digital Health team in Kelowna BC.

About the role:

The Data Facilitator (Facilitator), Analytics & Reporting facilitates data and reporting requests through a data management lifecycle approach. The Facilitator guides inquiries, gathers requirements and communicates frequently with customers. The Facilitator acts as a Product Owner and ensures customer(s) are engaged and aware of product development and progress. Working closely with customer leads and Digital Health team members, they gather data & reporting requirements to enable a data driven health care system. The Facilitator uses advanced communication skills to facilitate a product request amongst business and technical teams who will contribute to product development. The Facilitator ensures all contributing teams know their specific deliverables and due dates; leads contributing teams in the development of products. The Facilitator highlights dependencies between multiple teams to support and enable timely product development. This liaising may support data quality, information, reporting, stewardship, governance, strategic information and modern data visualizations.

Some key duties:

• Provides timely, relevant, reliable, and clear data facilitation to enable data & analytics for the customer to meet data driven objectives within specified timeframes.

• Functions as a proactive member of the Analytics & Reporting team. The Facilitator collaborates closely with Data Consultant(s), Report Writers and other members of Data & Analytics to meet customer needs.

• Acts as a first point of contact in Analytics & Reporting Services and is responsible to:

o Receives and/or reviews and assess customer request for a data product.

o Works with the customer to identify the value proposition. Translates this to Data & Analytics to instill a shared vision.
o Identify customer timelines. Liaises with Data & Analytics team to determine reasonableness. Provides customer with clear deliverables and timelines on behalf of Data & Analytics. Supports prioritization of data products aligned with IH goals and objectives.
o Function as product owner and ensure product delivery. Communicate milestones with product team and customer. Mitigate barriers if/when required.

o Assess and investigate options to meet customer request:
 Review existing data products with customer.
 Explore modifications to existing data products.
 Recommend alternative data products / ideas to meet needs.
 Review advantages and disadvantages of data product options with customer.
 Consults with members of Data & Analytics (as required) to provide items i – iv.

• Coordinates and manage communication and actions using ticketing system.

• Contemplates multiple data sources (population, clinical, organizational, operational and administrative etc.) to enable functionality of other team members (I.e., Data Consultants). Ensures fulsome approach to data requests, including: data linkages, descriptive information, statistical analyses and reports.

• Translates “technical speak” into clear, meaningful language easily understood by the customer. If required, negotiates alternate timelines for data product deliverables. Considers alternate timelines; balances both customer and Data & Analytics priorities.

• Develops strong working relationships with customers, program Managers, Directors, Senior Executive members, Business Support, and others who require information for planning, managing, and evaluating services. Project support may include planning project deliverables and identifying data sources and appropriate methods to support data analyses, writing summary reports, and preparing presentations relative to data facilitation.

• Works with representatives of internal and external partners as required to enable data product development.

• Champions adherence to data governance, service management, agile product development, data standards and ethics; honors the Data Management Lifecycle.

• Works with Digital Health teams and other IH staff to support timely, reliable and quality Data & Analytics products

• Provides consistenticies with the team vision and priorities, may assign and delegate tasks to data and analytics team members to enable data product development and delivery.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Analytics, Business, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Communication. Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a service focused position, data product delivery, project management or data & analytics environment (or combination thereof). Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
• Managing complex information requests using advanced critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, innovation and advanced communication skills (both written & verbal).
• Experience working in a complex computerized & technical environment is required.

Comments

Salary range for the position is approximately from $67,864 to $97,555 and starting salary will be based on education, training and experience
