Position Summary
If you are certified in chemotherapy administration and if oncology nursing is your passion, we have casual Registered Nurse opportunities now available at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.
As a member of our interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse - Oncology is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Registered Nurses are expected to demonstrate a specialized body of knowledge in addition to skills such as strong critical thinking, communication, advocacy and a commitment to high quality, safe patient centered care.
Casual hours are not guaranteed and may vary on an as needed basis. Shift times may be Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 and 09:30 to 15:30.
Located in Cranbrook, between Kimberley and Fernie, the East Kootenay Regional Hospital is a 75 bed regional referral centre for patients and smaller community hospitals throughout the designated health service area. EKRH offers physician specialties, 24-hour emergency and trauma services, acute medical and surgical and obstetrical care as well as lab services.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Completion of a recognized post-basic program in oncology nursing and two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Certification in administration of chemotherapeutic agents required

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $40.21-$57.78. These are unionized nursing positions with the BCNU.
