Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Worker IV to join our dedicated and supportive team at Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, BC.
The Maintenance Worker IV performs a variety of mechanical, electrical and structural maintenance and repair duties related to plant systems (such as heating, air handling and pneumatic tube systems), buildings and equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. This position supervises Maintenance Workers and/or other designated staff as required.
This is a casual position with possible Wednesday to Friday day shifts from 07:00 to 15:00. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 10 education plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
Skills and Abilities:

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
