This Registered Nurse (RN) position is part of the Population Health’s Healthy from the Start program and provides health promotion, health education and disease/injury prevention programs and services to individuals, groups and communities in locations such as homes, schools, and other community settings to increase the knowledge of health, promote healthy behaviors, and provide early identification and intervention services to prevent disease and injury.
The population this position focuses on is childbearing and childrearing families in the prenatal/postnatal period. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with virtual care technology and flexible in client care delivery options including phone and virtual.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Completion of a recognized course in human lactation and breastfeeding and one (1) year recent, related experience in public health maternity care nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training experience.
Current valid BC Driver’s License.
