Interior Health’s West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) is building its team of Physiotherapists and invites application for Casual employment.
The West Kelowna UPCC offers clients comprehensive, team-based health care to an estimated 41,000 people residing within the communities of West Kelowna and Peachland. Urgent care centres serve two purposes: providing health care for non-life threatening conditions; and to help attach community members with family doctors and/or nurse practitioners. The medical healthcare team includes general practitioners, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, physiotherapists and medical office assistants.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Shifts will be between the hours of 11:00 to 21:00 or 16:30 to 21:00 and could fall within a 7-day work week. We require a Casual Physiotherapist to be available a minimum of three days per week. Casual employees receive 13% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
As a member of the West Kelowna UPCC team, you will work independently and collaboratively providing physiotherapy services that include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of clients and/or their caregivers. Reporting to the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead you will draw upon your ability to identify client and therapist expectations and the client’s desired functional status and quality of life; administer standardized tests and measures; promote functional independence; and enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.
