Position Summary
Are you a nurse with experience in the ICU? We have an amazing opportunity for you within our team here at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Our Patient Services Tower has been completed and we have moved into our new Critical Care unit. The floor plan is 4 times the size of the vacated space with room to expand to 16 beds.
The new space offers a large, bright working area with wide halls, and lots of storage areas with windows surrounding the whole unit. The new unit was designed to focus on the family unit as a whole being and the new ICU has three family areas; a waiting room, a quiet room and a family overnight room, the natural light and the private rooms make for a positive experience for patients and family members.
Our new decentralized model moves the nurse and services right to the patients bedside in satellite stations and provides access by all users, in a quiet, soothing experience that is reassuring to patients, families, and visitors. The decentralized room provides optimal patient privacy and enhances private family interactions with patient, nurse and physician and other allied team members such as social workers, clerical staff, physiotherapists, dieticians and respiratory therapists.
VJH’s Intensive Care Unit consists of 10 beds. Five RNs work Day Shift as well as five work Nights.
This is a relief full time opportunity available until June 25, 2024 or return of the incumbent. Shifts of work are 07:00 to 19:15 hours and 19:00 to 07:15 hours.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $40.21-$57.78
