Position Summary
Our Histopathology department is seeking a flexible and reliable Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their welcoming team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. This is a relief full-time position. Days of work are Monday to Friday and shift times are 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, and 09:00 to 17:00.
What you will work on
As a member of the MLT team, you can expect to contribute in a team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the histology and cytology areas of the Lab such as routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, including PCR testing, receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, and validating/reporting test results.

The RIH Lab is a full-service 24/7 facility offering Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histology, Microbiology and point-of-care testing. The Lab employs a large team of generalists and specialists who work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
