Medical Device Reprocessing Technician/Perioperative Aide

Position Summary

If you are a motivated and reliable Medical Device Reprocessing Technician/Perioperative Aide with attention to detail we would love to hear from you for our Casual opening.

As a member of the Penticton Regional Hospital Medical Device Reprocessing and Operating Room Team, you will perform a series of detailed technical duties related to preparation of the Operating Room (OR) theaters and the position and preparation of the surgical patients and related supplies/equipment. You will restock supplies in the theaters and storage areas and transport patients, specimens, equipment and supplies within the perioperative areas. You will support the surgical team regarding patient observations and interactions, and in the use, care and location of perioperative equipment and supplies.

Shifts will follow rotating schedule that includes Days/Evenings. Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees will receive 13% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, you have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Successful completion of Sterile Processing Course
• One year’s recent related experience is an asset.
