Position Summary
If you have a love for Social Work, we have a casual career opportunity that will allow you to draw on your clinical skills as you provide service in a variety of service areas at the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in beautiful and sunny Kelowna, B.C.
The department provides Social Work services 7 days a week with varying hours of operation that includes day and evening work. Applicants with either BSW or MSW are welcome to apply.
What Will You Work On?
In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. As the Social Worker you will be responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.
Shift times are from 08:00 to 16:00; 15:00 to 23:00 hours.
This is a casual opportunity which means no guaranteed hours but under the collective agreement there are minimum hours to comply. Some advantages of being casual:

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
Current valid BC driver’s license.
