Position Summary
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) has a relief, full time opening in its Occupational Rehab Program. This position is to provide coverage until November 2024, or return of incumbent. Opportunity provided to apply to future vacancies through Interior Health’s internal recruitment job postings.
What Will You Work On?
This program is contracted with Worksafe BC to provide services to individuals who have not been able to return to work. Clients seen by the Physiotherapist have suffered a work injury and are supported to rehabilitate with the goal of returning to work. Involves functional capacity assessments. Days of work are 08:00 to 16:00; Mondays through Fridays.
How Will You Create Impact?
Team members work closely together to meet the patients’ needs. KGH is a tertiary rehab site with lots of areas of practice: acute medical care, acute surgical care, large outpatients programs, large inpatient rehab programs, community care rehab, urgent primary care centre, we have something for everybody! A broad scope of patients are seen. There is a little bit of everything including pediatrics.
How Will We Help You Grow?
We have a staff of 50 or more therapists covering all areas requiring relief for vacation and sick time. Variety of experienced physiotherapists and rehab assistants available for new graduates to learn from. A variety of positions with different rotation options that can suit active lifestyles. We routinely offer up to full time hours if interested. There is plenty of work even if you do not own a permanent line.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a Physiotherapist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills.
