Position Summary

Kelowna General Hospital Lab is seeking a reliable and capable Autopsy Attendant to join the team on a casual basis in the Histopathology department.

Under the direction and supervision of the Pathologist, Pathologists Assistant or Medical Resident, the Autopsy Attendant prepares cadavers for autopsy and performs various autopsy and specimen related procedures. The morgue can be a sensitive and challenging work area, and so the ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable with this nature of work, who has completed anatomy courses and possesses a respectful and resilient disposition when performing the duties and responsibilities of the position.

This is a casual position. Days of work may be Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 and 07:00 to 15:00 on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

Grade 12, completion of anatomy courses, plus one (1) year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
