Position Summary

If you have a love for Social Work, we have a relief full time career opportunity that will allow you to draw on your clinical skills as you provide service in a community setting with our Treatment Support and Recovery Team at the Community Health & Services Centre in Kelowna, B.C.

This relief is until the return of the incumbent.

What Will You Work On?

This position will support the Treatment Support and Recovery Team. This team deals with adults experiencing concurrent severe mental health and substance use disorders.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. As the Social Worker you will be responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.

Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.

Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.

Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.

Current valid BC driver’s license.

*Experience working with adults experiencing concurrent severe mental health and substance use disorders is considered an asset.
