Position Summary

Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC, has an exciting opportunity for an Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse (RN).

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals. Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services.

This is a TEMPORARY FULL-TIME opportunity until May 31, 2024, or the return of the incumbent. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with shift times of 07:30 to 15:30, 17:00 to 07:00.

Qualifications

•Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
•Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned program area as required by the position:
Ambulatory Care
• Minor Procedures Clinic - completion of recognized post-basic education in perioperative nursing (including theory and practicum in scrub and circulating roles), plus two years recent related ambulatory care experience which includes experience in minor surgical, oncology, and/or medical specialty clinics in an acute care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Endoscopy - Certification in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two years recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) - a minimum of 600 hours of demonstrated IV therapy experience over the past two years, successful completion of an approved course on PICC/Midline catheter insertion plus one year's recent related general duty nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $40.21-$57.78
