Position Summary

Interior Health’s Penticton Urgent Primary & Community Care Centre (UPCC) is inviting applications for the position of Urgent Primary Care Physiotherapist.

If you are an Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy Physiotherapist wanting to work in a medical team-based environment we would love to hear from you for our relief, part time opening. This position will provide coverage until return of incumbent.

The Urgent Primary Care Physiotherapist performs a variety of duties within the UPCC such as conducting advanced orthopedic physiotherapy assessments; selecting and applying evidence-based interventions; and educating clients and caregivers regarding self-management, health promotion and injury/disability prevention including directing client to appropriate services in their community to provide ongoing care as needed. Additional duties performed include acting as a therapy resource; providing work direction instruction to the rehabilitation assistants; participating in quality improvement of programs; and participating in approved physiotherapy and interdisciplinary research and special projects.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved program of Physical Therapy
• Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Physical Therapy.
• Demonstrated post graduate education in orthopedic manual and manipulative therapy (minimum Level III (Part A or B an asset), or an equivalent education).
• Minimum of three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. With a minimum of one (1) year experience in a direct access facility diagnosing acute/subacute musculoskeletal injuries.
