Registered Nurse (RN/RPN) | Long-term Care

Position Summary

We are currently seeking casual Long-Term Care Nurses, Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses to join our team at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, B.C.

What will you work on?

The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of individual –centered care by assisting individual and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absences; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions.

About this location/unit

Ponderosa Lodge has 136 short term beds (68 First Appropriate Bed & 68 Pathway to Home which include convalescent and respite care). It is a multi-level brick building built in the heart of downtown Kamloops, one block from Royal Inland Hospital. Our individual -centered philosophy is designed to support individuals’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $40.21-$57.78
