About the Job:
As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performing assessments and planning, implementing and providing personal and nursing care to patients/clients. You will also administer oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures. The LPN will provide complete treatment of wound care and provides leadership to our care staff. They work closely with the RN’s, and will admit and discharge clients.
The scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population. The LPN operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

Free accommodation may be available at this site. The nursing residence is located adjacent to the hospital. Single rooms (bed, side table, dresser and sink) and shared bathroom / shower, kitchen and living space, including TV and WIFI. Staff are required to bring their own bedding, personal items and food. Meals can be purchased through the kitchen in advance.
Forest View Place, located in Clearwater, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility has 19 permanent long-term care beds and two beds for palliative and respite clients. Rooms are private with beautiful views of the gardens and surrounding forest. A spacious dining room and activity area look out over a large covered ground deck at the entrance of the garden. All areas are wheelchair accessible. A recreation coordinator is on site to facilitate an at home environment.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Current CPR certification required.
