Position Summary
The Shuswap Lake General Hospital has an opportunity for a Permanent Part Time (0.73 FTE) Diagnostic Mammography Technologist in Salmon Arm, B.C.
This position is a combined mammography and x-ray position and has multiple shift start times.
What will you Work on?
Performs mammography procedures, to image pathologic conditions in the diagnosis of breast disease, for routine and specialized purposes. Performs radiographic procedures and statistical record keeping for the proper operation and maintenance of the mammography area and as outlined in the departmental procedure manual.

Population draw is over 33,000 with some programs, such as CT and Echo, serving an additional 10,000 from Revelstoke. The Imaging Department at SLH was built in 2009 and has large, spacious diagnostic rooms in all departments. This is a brand new service to Salmon Arm in newly renovated mammography department with brand new Hologic digital equipment. On site Radiologists allow for a wide variety of exams and interventional procedures. Tailored orientation to successful applicant, position, department and hospital. We will provide opportunities for professional growth as well as the opportunity to train in other modalities. Relocation allowance can be offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Medical Radiography Technology Diploma program and post graduate education in Mammography.
Two years’ experience as a Radiology Technologist with demonstrated experience in all aspects of mammography.
Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
Breast Imaging Certification (BIC) or equivalent education and experience as deemed by the facility.
