NURSE PRACTITIONER – CHASE

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Chase, B.C. This is a Term Specific Full Time position. The term of this position is until October 27, 2023 or return of the incumbent.

This nurse practitioner position provides primary care to an established roster of approximately 615 patients as well as outreach services to the Sqwlax Wellness Centre (Little Shuswap Indian Band). This position provides primary care across the lifespan to an age-diverse patient population with a focus on women’s health, maternity care, Aboriginal health, mental health, and chronic disease management. The nurse practitioner in this position works in close collaboration with four physicians at the Chase Medical Clinic as well as the local public health, home care, and First Nations Health Authority community health nurses. Chase, otherwise known as “The Gateway to the Shuswap”, is located 56 kilometers east of Kamloops at the southern end of Little Shuswap Lake in the Thompson-Nicola region of BC’s Southern Interior. With the city of Kamloops nearby, Chase offers the advantages of small town living in close proximity to an urban centre with spectacular scenery including beaches, campsites, dock and boat launch facilities and Chase Falls. Chase offers a safe and peaceful community that includes all the amenities of a sustainable community including education, health care and recreational opportunities. In recent years, Chase’s population has grown to include artists, recent retirees and young families seeking affordable housing. Nearby lakes, rivers and mountains provide recreational opportunities that include camping, hiking, river rafting and in the winter, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The main industry here is forestry.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who ideally has some experience working in First Nations communities; brings great leadership, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills; and is an effective team member. Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
