The RIH Operating Room Department provides surgical procedures in General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and also manage Multiple Trauma cases for pediatric and adult patients. We are a group of highly skilled Staff Anesthesia Assistants, Anesthesiologists, and Perioperative RNs and LPNs, in addition to technical and support staff.
This position is a relief, part-time position and will continue until the incumbent returns (October 2023). If you are hoping for additional work, there are plenty of casual hours available. Shifts will be scheduled Days/Evenings and on-call will be required on a rotational basis.
Effective April 2023 hourly rates of pay: $40.53 to $50.62
Duties and responsibilities include performing technical duties related to anesthesia such as testing, preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies. Performing clinical duties related to assisting Anesthesiologists with the induction, maintenance and recovery phases of anesthesia.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Completion of an accredited post-graduate Anesthesia Assistant diploma program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
• Eligible for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
• Current certificates in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
