Position Summary
We are looking for a confident and experienced Shift Coordinator with a solid acute care Nursing leadership background to join our team at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital, in Williams Lake B.C.
As the Shift Coordinator you will be responsible for access and flow, patient placement, bed utilization and staffing during weekends, evening and night shifts. You will act as a clinical resource to staff in resolving problems regarding patient care, staffing levels and bed utilization. You will have accountability for ensuring excellence in the provision of patient centered care throughout the hospital on assigned shift.
Ideally we are seeking an applicant who has recent supervisory experience in an acute healthcare setting of a similar size and complexity to our hospital. We anticipate you will be someone who excels at problem solving, making effective decisions under pressure and can take action in a frontline nursing leadership position and maintaining excellent communication with patients, families and healthcare colleagues.
This is a permanent full-time position DC2 Nurse position. Days of work are rotating (4 on 4 off) and shift times are 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 7:30. Qualifications
-Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
-Three years’ recent related clinical experience and two years’ of recent supervisory experience in a complex health care environment. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-Current CPR certificate.
