Licensed Practical Nurse | Orthopaedic Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking an Orthopaedic Technician certified Licensed Practical Nurse with comprehensive assessment and critical thinking skills to join our team at the Kamloops Urgent Care Clinic in Kamloops, BC.

This position operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Under the direction and supervision of a physician/nurse practitioner (NP) this position also provides orthopaedic care by performing duties such as assessing and evaluating patients’ conditions; reviewing x-rays to confirm plan of care; applying casts and splints; removing externally exposed pins, wires, staples and sutures; setting up traction equipment; and performing other related orthopaedic duties.

This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity working rotating days and evenings with shift times of 09:47 to 21:00.

Qualifications

Graduation from a BCCNM recognized practical nursing education program plus completion of formal post-basic education in Orthopaedics, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) required.

Comments

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $31.89-$43.65
