Position Summary
We are seeking to expand our Respiratory Therapy Team in Williams Lake, BC and invite applications from Respiratory Therapists interested in working a Casual position that offers opportunity to work as much as you like (i.e. up to full time hours).
This Respiratory Therapist position will offer diversity in varied areas of practice utilizing all skill sets and deployment into services and programs including Acute Care and Diagnostics. Acute Care involves working at Cariboo Memorial Hospital; a 28-inpatient bed community hospital with Emergency Room, ICU, OR, medical-surgical, and obstetrical units.
Shifts will include a mix of rotating days, including weekends. Shifts will be pre-booked and some will be on short notice. We anticipate opportunities to apply for Regular employment positions within the Internal Recruitment job posting process.
How Will You Create Impact?
You will be part of a team that improves the quality of patient care we deliver. Within the Acute Care aspect, you will be involved with the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical wards and be able to support nursing staff with intubated patients. Your patient population will be neonates to end-of-life.
How Will We Help You Grow?
ACLS/PALS/NRP/BLS provided. Orientation will be customized to each new employee’s needs. You will receive on going mentorship from all staff and the Respiratory Therapy Professional Practice Leader (PPL). We are rural worksite based where education if offered frequently to staff and a teaching site for rural medicine.
Who Are We Looking For?
Respiratory Therapists comfortable working independently with agility to cross over into different areas. Willing to be team based and live the Cariboo life style where outdoor pursuits are in abundance.
Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligible for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
• Recent acute/critical care experience.
• Current valid BC Driver’s License.

Effective April 2023 hourly rates of pay: $36.35 to $45.38
