Casual opportunities exists for Mental Health & Substance Use Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses to join the warm and caring team with the Developmental Disability Mental Health Services in beautiful Kamloops, B.C.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking applicants with extensive experience in mental health and substance use plus knowledge and experience in developmental disabilities.
About this location/unit
Developmental Disability Mental Health Services is an Interior Health tertiary mental health program that provides specialized mental health consultation and services to individuals 14 years and older who have both an intellectual developmental disorder and mental health disorder.
What will you work on?
Working in the assigned clinical area Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), the Registered Nurse provides assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Registered Nurse functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
Shifts of work are days, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 hours.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved school of nursing
Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Seniors MHSU Services; Substance Use; Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Current valid B.C. driver’s license
