Registered Nurse (RN/RPN) | Long-term Care

Position Summary

We are currently seeking Casual Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at David Lloyd Jones Home in Kelowna, B.C.

What will you work on?

The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of resident–centered care by assisting individual residents and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

About this location/unit

David Lloyd Jones Home is located in Kelowna, the home embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This Residential Care Facility consisting of 3 adjoining wings of 15, 19 and 30 rooms respectively. All rooms are private. Resident rooms are on main floor with activity areas on both main floor and basement areas.

Shifts of work are days, evening, and nights: 06:30 to 14:30, 14:30 to 22:30, 22:30 to 06:30, 06:30 to 12:30, 12:30 to 20:30

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
