SOGH is an active, rural hospital serving the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas that sees an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. There are 7 Emergency beds and 18 acute care beds which regularly operate at 100% capacity.

Eleven years ago this site was selected to be a pilot site for the implementation of the electronic Meditech charting system and advanced clinicals. SOGH has been a paperless ward, and one of the few who have been able to achieve it in Canada and North America. Nursing and multidisciplinary notes, medication administration, and physicians’ orders are done electronically. Today, SOGH is seen as a leader in this technology.

This is a FULL-TIME PERMANENT opportunity. Hours of work: 7:15-19:15, 19:15-7:15

Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or Rural Nursing Certificate/ED training or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.
