Interior Health is seeking a reliable and flexible Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Long-term Care team at Columbia View Lodge in beautiful Trail, B.C.

About the Job:
The Registered Nurse:
• Provides nursing care to Long-term Care patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 06:45 to 18:45 or 18:45 to 06:45 hours.
Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91.
About this location/unit:
Columbia View Lodge (CVL) opened in 1977 and is currently a Long-term Care Site with 76 beds. There are four units, one is a secure unit for special care residents and the other three have a mixed population. Six of these beds are short stay beds (community palliative, respite, convalescent). There is also an Adult Day program 6 days a week (for those clients living in the community), along with a community bathing program (Monday to Friday). There is a kitchen that prepares meals and housekeepers that clean the building for the residents. Personal laundry is washed in-house while bedding and towels go to a regional location to be cleaned.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
