Registered Nurse (RN/RPN) | Mental Health and Substance Use

Position Summary

If you have experience working with complex mental health issues and working alongside a multidisciplinary team then we have an amazing opportunity for you to join our Development Disability Mental Health team in Creston.

Developmental Disability Mental Health Services is an Interior Health tertiary mental health program that provides specialized mental health consultation and services to individuals 14 years and older who have both an intellectual developmental disorder and mental health disorder.

The Registered Nurse functions as a member of the larger integrated health services team and as a member of a designated multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.

Working in the assigned clinical area Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), the Registered Nurse provides assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Registered Nurse functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

This is a permanent part-time (0.62 FTE) opportunity working Tuesday through Thursday with shift times of 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved school of nursing
Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT), Adult Community Support Services (ACSS), Urgent Response, Elderly Services, Alcohol & Drug) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwifes (BCCNM)
Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
