A great relief full-time opportunity exists for a Mental Health & Substance Use Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the warm and caring team with Developmental Disability Mental Health Services at the Williams Lake Health Centre in beautiful Williams Lake, B.C. This relief position is until July 28, 2023 or return of the incumbent.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking applicants with at least two years of experience in mental health and substance use and knowledge and experience in developmental disabilities.
About this location/unit
Developmental Disability Mental Health Services is an Interior Health tertiary mental health program that provides specialized mental health consultation and services to individuals 14 years and older who have both an intellectual developmental disorder and mental health disorder.
What will you work on?
The Registered Nurse provides assessment, treatment, case coordination, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Registered Nurse functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families. This position works independently in the program. Team Lead and Management support are based out of Kelowna.
Days of work are Monday to Friday and shifts are from 08:00 to 16:00 hours.

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
• Two (2) years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
