Position Summary

We currently have an opportunity for a Permanent Full Time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within our team.

The shift types of this position are rotating days. The position is usually based on current rotation of working:
Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday. (Wed and Weekends off) Shift times would be 07:52 to 17:45, 07:30 to 17:30.
There is usually one night of oncall per week from 17:30-22:00 hrs.
Rotation includes weekends -Usually 1 weekend worked, and 5 weekends off in a 6 week rotation.
Rotation may change based on staffing levels.

What Will You Work On?
The Medical Imaging Department consists of five Ultrasound Rooms and services offered include: Screening Mammography, Diagnostic Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Radiography, Bone Densitometry, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine. Generalist Sonographers at PRH work with GE and Philips equipment that was purchased in the last two years. Our team works closely with the Radiologist group for interventional work.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a team player with great patient care and exceptional communication skills! The successful applicant needs to be flexible as the environment is ever changing.


Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).

Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).

Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
