Occupational Therapist | Acute Inpatient & Outpatient Care

Position Summary

Penticton Regional Hospital has a relief, part-time opening.

This position has an Acute Care rotation and an Outpatient Neuro caseload and will provide coverage until return of incumbent (date unknown). Schedule is Sundays through Thursday Day shift.

We will support the successful candidate with an orientation customized to meet the Occupational Therapist and offer mentorship processes and informal supports with more experienced Occupational Therapists on the team. Opportunity for informal learning, e.g. in services.

Occupational Therapists work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient/outpatient occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to patients and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. They provide work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who can work autonomously with ability to organize time and prioritize work appropriately.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
