Occupational Therapist | Community Home Health

Position Summary

Interior Health’s Community Home Health Care has an immediate opening for an Occupational Therapist.

This is a relief, part time (0.55 FTE) opportunity that will provide coverage until May 2023, or return of incumbent. Schedule is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Days. Occasional weekend coverage required.

What will you work on:
• Occupational Therapy assessments of home health clients presenting with a wide range of diagnoses. This can be clients from age of 18 and over.
• Work collaboratively with the home health team to determine a treatment care plan.
• Travel radius is mainly within Kamloops with the occasional rural coverage if required less than 60 km. Fleet vehicle utilized for any rural coverage.

How will you create impact:
• Work with the acute care and residential (short stay bed) teams to optimize access and flow across the healthcare continuum for these clients.
• Align with the Ministry of Health goal of maintaining clients at home with the support they need.

How will we help you grow:
• Support and knowledge sharing from an established interdisciplinary team.
• Be part of the Home Health transformational work to ensure a team based care approach for each home health client.

Who are we looking for:
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills.

• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
