Physiotherapist | Pulmonary and Community Rehab

Position Summary

We have a permanent, part time opening available in the beautiful Kootenay Boundary region.

This position works within a multidisciplinary team approach providing physiotherapy services and guiding the work direction of rehabilitation assistants. Tuesdays and Thursdays (08:00 to 16:00 hours) are at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Pulmonary Rehab. Friday mornings (09:00 to 13:00 hours) is supporting Community Rehab in Trail.

Pulmonary Rehab provides support and exercise to patients with COPD. Therapy can be provided virtually and/or face-to-face to community members across Kootenay Boundary.

In Community Home Health the Physiotherapist works predominantly with a geriatric population, but can see clients of all ages and involves home visits and case management for clients needing physio consults and interventions to support safety and optimizing independence at home. The Physiotherapist will frequently provide rehab follow-up support for clients coming back home from an acute hospital or an inpatient rehab / convalescent period stay to ensure a successful transition when returning to their own homes.

Majority of clients seen will be elderly and adult assisting them to reach their desired functional status. You will help in providing treatment programs which allow clients to be safe and improve their quality of life. And act as a physiotherapy resource for other members of the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

We welcome upcoming Masters of Physical Therapy new grads and/or Physiotherapists with Interim CPTBC registration to apply.
