We invite Occupational Therapists to apply for a Permanent Full Time opening at Interior Health’s Mental Health Community Team located in Kelowna, B.C.!
The Occupational Therapist will join Ellis House, Kelowna’s complex care housing healthcare team. The complex care model provides supportive housing with an emphasis on intensive clinical health supports available 24/7. This new model serves community members with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders, acquired brain injuries, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and developmental disabilities that often lead to challenges accessing housing as well as frequent use of crisis and emergency services. It offers support those most vulnerable in the community, who will no longer need to shelter outside.
The Occupational Therapist will join Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and other members of the healthcare team providing support to the new complex care Housing First site in our community to support complex mental health clients.
Professional Occupational Therapy practice is supported at multiple levels. Locally by the Allied Health and Nursing teams. General practice as part of a group led by an Occupational Therapy Professional Practice Leader, with operational oversight from an Allied Health Manager. Mentoring and mentee opportunities abound as you are surrounded by other Occupational Therapists of various backgrounds, skills and experience.

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
