Position Summary
Permanent part-time 0.73fte Night Supervisor, Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Grade 4 opportunity available now at the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). Days of work are rotating and shift times are nights only from 23:30 to 07:30 on a 5 on/5 off schedule.
What will you work on
The Night Supervisor assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the Laboratory during the night shift, by monitoring, prioritizing and assigning work to ensure high efficiency and quality of results. You will be responsible for liaising with evening/day shift staff to ensure smooth transition of any incomplete work or unusual situations. Resolving problems and concerns as they arise and communicating action taken during the night shift to the Professional Practice Leader. In addition to performing medical laboratory technical duties in sections of the Lab as required.

The KGH Laboratory is our largest and most specialized 24/7 lab and progressive teaching facility. The Lab consists of hundreds of team members who work collaboratively in a variety of disciplines such as Collections, Accession, Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Histology, AP and Molecular.

Qualifications
Medical Laboratory Technologist with current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS).
Minimum two years’ recent experience as a general duty technologist in a medical laboratory.
Supervisory and related technical continuing education courses.
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the facility.
